Part VI: Collaborating with 2axend

At 2axend, a core part of our work is connecting healthcare organizations with the insight, tools, and strategies to improve Deaf and hard of hearing individuals’ experiences and continuum of care in healthcare settings.

Leveraging our cultural and linguistic expertise, as well as our niche focus and innate knowledge, we aim to help you strategically address the steps necessary to advance the patient experience for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals at every organizational touchpoint.

To help your organization bridge the gap between your current and desired states, 2axend can conduct a variety of qualitative and quantitative assessments and make recommendations for priorities to pursue. This includes determining the efficacy of existing communication access policies and corresponding procedures, facilitating focus groups with individuals from the Deaf and hard of hearing community, and developing ASL/English-based surveys to obtain the data your organization needs to inform decisions and move the needle forward.

Our work does not end with developing recommendations, we can help you develop and implement initiatives that are designed to optimize the Deaf and hard of hearing community experience with your organization. This includes rolling out revamped policies and procedures; forming a Deaf and hard of hearing-centered patient and family advisory council; and designing, facilitating and implementing a robust training program to help your team satisfy the Deaf and hard of hearing community’s diverse cultural, social and linguistic needs in healthcare settings.
