Healthcare Organizations

Improve patient experiences and continuum of care.

Optimizing Healthcare Strategies for Inclusive Patient Care

While healthcare organizations face pressure to manage costs, mitigate risk, and uphold brand promises, they must also balance these demands while providing patient-centered, inclusive care.

At 2axend, we collaborate with various healthcare organizations – including health systems, integrated delivery networks, hospitals, and academic medical facilities – to design and implement strategies tailored to address Deaf and hard of hearing individuals’ cultural, social, and linguistic needs.

Depending on your healthcare organization’s needs, we may conduct the following:

Evaluate User-Experiences

Identify and address care gaps with data-driven assessments and audits, ensuring organizational compliance and improved patient outcomes.

Policy Review and Development

Drive organizational compliance by updating or creating policies and procedures tailored to meet Deaf and hard of hearing individuals’ communication and language needs.

Patient and Family Advisory Councils

Engage Deaf and hard of hearing patients, family members and community advocates to inform care delivery; fostering trust and cultural awareness across every organizational touchpoint.

Customized Learning Opportunities

Through scenario-based learning, webinars, and e-learning courses, we provide training relevant to the delivery of patient-centered experiences, including Deaf culture, communication accessibility, and the impact of individual and systemic biases on patient care and outcomes.

Resource Creation and Implementation

Develop actionable toolkits and best practices to empower healthcare teams to deliver accessible and culturally sensitive care for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

With 2axend, you can:

2axend’s Client Work with Healthcare Organizations

A major non-profit integrated healthcare system partnered with 2axend to address disparities faced by signing and non-signing Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Through focus groups, digital surveys, and the co-creation of a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Patient and Family Advisory Council, we pinpointed critical areas for improvement. One key initiative involved integrating standardized data collection practices into the EHR storyboard, enabling accurate tracking of patient demographics, hearing status, and communication needs. This partnership resulted in notable outcomes, including improved patient satisfaction and engagement, enhanced data quality, and increased operational efficiency.

Following a settlement agreement, a leading healthcare system partnered with 2axend to overhaul their communication policies to ensure effective services for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing patients. As part of our work, we helped implement new policies and workflows to support accessible care. This partnership led to policy reforms which significantly enhanced communication access and overall patient satisfaction scores.

Transform healthcare delivery

Together, let’s ensure every patient has access to exceptional care.
