The need for qualified interpreters in healthcare is paramount
The Deaf in Healthcare Summit for Interpreters is an annual virtual summit that is designed to provide sign language interpreters with a professional platform to learn from and collaborate with Deaf, hard of hearing and DeafBlind stakeholders, medical interpreters and medical professionals to create a shared vision of consumer-centric interpreting experiences in healthcare settings where everyone benefits.

You’ll be joining a diverse audience
We had more than 500 participants join us during the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Deaf in Healthcare Summits for Interpreters. U.S. participants joined from 40+ states; we also had international participants with us during past summits.
Participants were a combination of staff, freelance and agency interpreters. We also had interpreters with varying levels of experience, ranging from newer interpreters to veteran interpreters who have worked in a variety of healthcare settings.
We expect 2025 to be similar in terms of number of participants and the diversity of representation.
It's a virtual summit!
Virtual conferences enable us to expand our reach and impact while offering a cost-effective, yet spectacular event experience.
To replicate the in-person experience as much as possible, we are deliberate about the event platform we use for the summit and are meticulous in creating and maximizing opportunities for participants to network and learn from each other.
For those concerned about technology, it is our goal to make sure you have a seamless experience from start to finish. We provide comprehensive information, including how-tos and step-by-step instructions to access all virtual sessions (via Zoom).
Support the Deaf Ecosystem
By attending this conference, attendees support the Deaf ecosystem. To date, the overwhelming majority of presenters and organizing team members (including tech support personnel) are Deaf, DeafBlind and hard of hearing.
